DOWNTON Abbey star Hugh Bonneville was a guest speaker at a school’s prize-giving ceremony.
Bonneville, who plays the patriarch Lord Grantham in the hit ITV drama, formed part of the ceremony at the Festival Hall in Petersfield which rewarded students from The Petersfield School who sat their GCSEs this summer.
The actor enjoyed his event so much he tweeted: ‘Very happy evening with alumni of The Petersfield School celebrating their GCSE results and the school’s status as an Academy. Inspiring.’
Nigel Poole, the school’s principal, said: ‘It was a great evening, and I was pleased to see so many friends, ex-students and representatives of the community.
‘I am grateful to Hugh for giving up his time to join us this evening.’
