CHOCOLATE eggs were hunted down with ravenous delight at Stubblee Hill children’s centre in Lee-on-the-Solent.
Youngsters searched for painted eggs buried in the back garden and were rewarded with a range of different sized chocolate eggs.
Kirsty Aksoy-Gell, 36, a member of the centre’s parent forum who organised the event, also invited some farm animals to keep the families entertained.
She said: ‘It was a terrific day and everyone had so much fun. The Easter Egg hunt was a great success and the children also enjoyed the animals that ranged from chickens and ducks to pigs and lambs.
‘There isn’t always a huge amount to do in the Easter holidays so it was nice to be able to give our local families some good entertainment.’
Mrs Aksoy-Gell said she also wanted to raise awareness for the Save Our Children’s Centres campaign, which is fighting proposals to merge centres including hers.
She said: ‘Today’s event which saw 200 people come through our door shows how popular our centre is.’
About £60 raised from the egg hunt will be donated to the campaign.
