STUDENTS at colleges and schools in the area will gain an insight into engineering.

Opus International Consultants Fareham is jointly hosting an event for Women in Engineering Day on Tuesday, June 23 with CEMAST (Centre of Excellence in Engineering and Manufacturing Advanced Skills Training).

Colleges and schools been invited and students, mainly girls, will be attending a day of talks and workshops.

They will learn about the types of engineering disciplines, the routes to take to become qualified, and the opportunities available to them when they do.

Eighty students are so far expected to attend and workshops will include exercises in building a geodesic dome, building bridges, and more.
