MORE than half of the schools across Fareham have joined a network celebrating the Olympics.

A total of 23 schools and Fareham College have registered to join the Get Set Network Schools.

The Get Set Network is a community of schools and colleges which are demonstrating a commitment to the Olympic Values – friendship, excellence and respect, and the Paralympic Values – inspiration, determination, courage and equality.

They are using the London 2012 Games to inspire learners of all ages to get involved in projects and activities based around these values. Schools can register to access free Olympic resources, toolkits and teaching materials.

Councillor Connie Hockley, said: ‘I’m delighted that over half of Fareham’s schools and colleges are now within the Olympic Get Set network and Fareham Borough Council is looking forward to working with those schools throughout the Olympic year.’
