THE former head of a Portsmouth primary that was put in special measures has been appointed deputy head of a school in Winchester.

Darren Nickerson resigned from Paulsgrove Primary last summer after a damning Ofsted inspection that placed his school in the lowest possible category. But he has now moved to Stanmore Primary which boasts a ‘good’ Ofsted rating.

Mr Nickerson said: ‘I’ve just moved on. I don’t want to comment.’
