PLACES are still available on free adult literacy and numeracy classes.

Portchester Community School in White Hart Lane, Portchester, is running the classes in both the daytime and evenings.

The literacy course will work on improving English skills, looking at punctuation, spelling, writing, speaking and listening skills.

The numeracy course will aim to improve maths skills from entry level three up to level two of the Adult National Curriculum.

Both courses are set up to allow people to work at their own pace.

There is also a GCSE maths course for adults, starting on September 18 in the evening for 30 weeks. This course costs £180 plus examination fees.
