A DISABILITY charity is inviting parents from Portsmouth and surrounding areas to a free local workshop for those who are worried that their disabled children are being bullied.

The Blowing the Whistle on Bullying workshop, run by the charity Contact a Family, is being hosted on Monday, June 9.

Angie Fenn, from Contact a Family, said: ‘Disabled children are more likely to be bullied than those who aren’t disabled. Reporting bullying may be difficult for a disabled child who may not be able to communicate what has happened, or may not even realise they are being bullied.’

‘That’s why we have organised this free workshop, to help parents understand more about it.’

For more information and to book a place call 07825 185608. Booking is essential and on a first come, first served basis. The workshop will run from 10am until 2pm at The Link, Cosham Baptist Church in Havant Road, Cosham, P06 2QZ. Lunch and refreshments are provided.
