Pupils and staff at Portsmouth High School celebrated another successful year of GCSE results.
But results did slip compared to last year's very high standards with 91 per cent achieving the gold standard of five A* to grades including English and maths, comapred to 99 per cent last year.
There was also a drop in the number scoring five A* to grades in any subject, down from 100 per cent to 97 per cent.
Headmistress Jenny Clough said: 'We are delighted with the results the girls have achieved, with over a quarter of the year group gaining A* or A in all their subjects, and five girls achieving straight A*s in all of their 10 subjects.
'These include IGCSE Mathematics and IGCSE Science, which are widely regarded as more rigorous courses.'
