A PRIVATE nursery in Cosham where children are catered for in a ‘happy and stimulating environment’ has received an encouraging Ofsted report.
Dystart was awarded the second-best ranking of ‘good’ following a visit from the government education watchdog in January.
Inspector Michele Beasley said: ‘The nursery is well run and is staffed by a committed team of staff who know all of the children very well.
‘Children are catered for in a happy and stimulating environment where mostly all children’s individual needs are well met.
‘Children make good progress in their speaking and listening skills because staff interact well with them.
‘Babies are cuddled as they are fed their bottles and older children enjoy helping to care for the younger ones.
‘Behaviour is good as staff act as positive role models and distract children from unwanted situations, often by introducing another activity.’
Dystart currently has 19 children on roll up to the age of five years.
