STUDENTS will be out and about in Gosport on Friday to do good deeds around their town.

Pupils from Gosport’s Bay House School are holding their Donate a Day initiative this week.

They will run afternoon tea sessions for senior citizens, hold a teddy bears’ picnic for children, raise money for charity by packing bags in a supermarket and hold a sponsored walk.

Some of them will also take to the streets to pick up litter around the area.

Tutor Jane Cotton said: ‘This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to reach out and engage with the local community through volunteering.’

The day is being run alongside the town’s Loud and Proud and Give, Gain and Grow volunteering groups.
