IT IS a golden year for pupils at a school as they celebrate its 50th anniversary.
Brune Park in Gosport will mark the celebration with a range of events and it kicked off with a 1960s-themed dance.

The evening was full of events and music from 1965 when the school first opened.
The school, off Military Way, is looking to involve as many past and present pupils as possible in its anniversary activities with the end of the school year culminating in a ceremony and concert.
Headteacher Richard Kelly said: ‘This school year we have a series of celebrations for the golden anniversary.
‘They started last month with a dance show which had a 1960s theme and was titled 1965.
‘Throughout the year there will be many student activities including celebrating aspects of each decade.
‘To do this we will be looking at the different fashion and teaching styles.’
To mark the occasion, the school held a competition to design a logo.
Year 11 student Bethany Mann won with her gold 50 design which incorporated theatre, music and the school’s motto Toujours Pret – ‘always ready’ in French.
The logo will be used throughout the year at events including the finale in the summer.
Mr Kelly added: ‘The year will end by recreating the official opening following exactly the programme from that time. It will link to the Prideaux-Brune family who donated the land which the school is on.
‘This finale will take place on the same day as our annual Summerfest and fireworks on July 9.’
To help with the celebrations Brune Park has invited previous students to get in touch.
They can be involved by volunteering at events, speaking about their time at the school or writing articles about their experiences.
Anyone who wants to get involved or knows a former students should get in contact with Lauren Stevens at L.email@example.com or telephone (023) 9261 6000 extension 258.
