Millions of pets face an Unhappy Blue Year, says PDSA

Forget Blue Monday millions of pets face a Blue Year unless their owners take steps to end their stress, obesity and loneliness, according to leading pet wellbeing charity PDSA.

The warning comes on Monday 15 January hallmarked as Blue Monday where short, dark days, empty pockets and dwindling New Years resolutions all add up to create the most melancholic day of the year. But PDSA is urging pet owners to spare a thought for the pets who face another year of loneliness and boredom going far beyond the joyless January blues.

A GRADUATE of the University of Portsmouth Business School has won an award as ‘The One to Watch’.

Scott Brooker, 23, was voted winner at the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) Company Secretaries Awards.

The award recognises recent achievement and future potential in those in the early stages of their careers.

Scott, who is company secretarial assistant for Sovereign Housing Association, said: ‘The Grad ICSA course was invaluable in equipping me with the technical skills and knowledge that I needed in order to deal with the variety of company secretarial work that I was asked to do.

‘It’s also an excellent way of gaining the Grad ICSA qualification in a short period of time and the lecturers are all extremely knowledgeable.’
