SCIENCE students from schools across the region have been working with industry experts to design a product to help disabled people.

Youngsters from City Boys, City Girls, Cams Hill, The Petersfield School, Crookhorn Technology College and Park Community are being mentored by Portsmouth-based construction company Warings and Intech science centre to think up the winning product.

They are taking part in the WeCan STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) challenge and hope to win a place at regional and eventually national finals.

This year’s task is based around Portsmouth FC’s programme to raise awareness of disabilities.
