TODDLER Charlotte Smith celebrated the anniversary of the opening of her nursery – by wearing a cake on her head.
Luckily the hat was made out of paper and cardboard so she didn’t get too messy.
But the children from Natters and Nippers playgroup, in Havant, had a great time at a party thrown for the occasion.
The playgroup, based in Havant Methodist Church in Petersfield Road, has been running for a year and has gone from strength to strength.
It is run through the charity the National Childbirth Trust.
Julie Fraser, a volunteer with the trust, said: ‘We are a very welcoming group and the mums who attend are great.
‘We have a high volume of first-time mums who come along just to meet others in similar circumstances and to support each other.
‘We started off slow with a few mums but we’ve grown from around eight to 20 on average each week.
‘The party was brilliant and we had a group called Caterpillar Crafts who came it to make birthday cake hats with the children. And one of our mums made us a number one cake.’ To find out more call (023) 9246 6741.
