SCHOOLCHILDREN will perform songs they have written inspired by a World War One exhibition.
Youngsters from schools across the Chichester area set to work on The Singing Project following a visit to The Novium.
The project is a collaboration between the museum and West Sussex Music Service.
They immersed themselves in First World War history by trying on soldiers’ uniforms and handling objects from a soldier’s pack.
The children read letters written by Chichester resident and businessman, Mr Shippam of Shippam’s Foods, to his employees who were stationed in the trenches.
On Saturday, they will all put on a performance at St Paul’s Church, Chichester, ahead of Remembrance Sunday.
The Great War Brought Home exhibition runs until December 31 at The Novium Museum, Tower Street, Chichester.
