A SUCCESSFUL leader is taking over as interim headteacher at a school.

Stewart Vaughan will take on the role at Priory School in Southsea, after James Humphries announced he was stepping down.

Mr Vaughan comes from Bohunt School Liphook, which is sponsored by the Bohunt Education Trust. The trust is academy sponsor at Priory.

Mr Vaughan said: ‘I’ve been a resident in this area for more than 20 years and this is an opportunity to help my local school. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to Priory, so we can benefit young people in the area.’

Mr Humphries said: ‘I have loved my time at Priory and will remember it very fondly.

‘I now feel the school is in a strong position to face the future confidently and I wish students, parents and the Priory community, the very best.
