STUDENTS at the University of Portsmouth are preparing for a 24 hour television show.

Television and broadcasting students have been running a real television channel for the last five years called CCI TV.

But this Thursday, they will be taking on a bigger challenge by broadcasting non-stop from 8pm through until 8pm on Friday to raise money for six different charities.

The challenge was set by the Dean of the Creative and Cultural Industries Faculty, Professor Catherine Harper.

She said: ‘I want students to be faced with real experiences and opportunities of learning that they will never forget.

‘Portsmouth is a fantastic place, full of life, culture and it is impossible to not feel fired up by this great city. We have expert staff who are willing to provide the best environments to aid learning, and to help explore specialisms that will lead to dream careers.

‘Putting on inspirational events like this help capture the student imagination.’
