Delight as nursery is rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted once again

HE’S done plenty to encourage pupils to read, but Miltoncross headteacher Niel McLeod is standing down at the end of this year – after seven years in the job.

The father-of-three, who will take up a job as business manager of a school in Brighton and work as an Ofsted inspector, says he wants to ‘pursue new career opportunities’.

Miltoncross is currently ironing out legal details as it becomes an AET-sponsored academy.

Mr McLeod, who stresses his decision has nothing to do with the academy plans, said: ‘I’ve had seven happy years here.’

The school’s governing body is in the process of recruiting a new head to start in September.
