YOUNGSTERS and their parents got into the spirit of the Olympics when they hosted their own outdoor ‘mini games’.

About 20 children got stuck into javelin, disc throwing, sprinting, and the long jump at Crookhorn Lane Children’s Centre, at Morelands Primary School in Purbrook.

The fun event was led by Havant and Waterlooville Football Club, to mark Moreland Primary’s week-long possession of a replica Olympic torch that is being passed around schools in the area in the run-up to the London Games next year.
