HONORARY graduates from the University of Chichester have begun 2012 with additional reasons to celebrate.

Professor Celia Brackenridge, who was awarded an honorary fellowship in 2010 and was a panellist at the launch of the Anita White Foundation, has been appointed an OBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours for her services to equality and child protection in sport.

And Talan Skeels-Piggins, who was awarded an honorary master of arts in 2011 and previously represented the UK in the winter paralympics, has been selected as one of the Olympic torch bearers who will carry the torch around the UK before the 2012 games.
