Talented musicians from Hampshire schools are invited to take part in a youth music festival next month.

Young musicians will be descending on LVS Ascot on February 6 and 7 for its second annual music festival, and under 18s are being urged to take to the stage at the celebration of youth music.

Solo categories include vocal, piano, strings, woodwind and brass, with additional ensemble and choir categories.

This year more contemporary jazz and rock/pop band categories have been added to ensure an eclectic mix of talent will be celebrated.

The school in Berkshire is bidding to expand on its inaugural music festival from last year, which saw almost 100 young musicians from a number of counties perform on the LVS Ascot stage in front of a packed auditorium.

A video of last year’s winning performance, along with more information, the syllabus and entry form, can be found at lvs.ascot.sch.uk/MusicFestival.

Entries close on Tuesday, January 26.
