THE MP for Fareham is to officially open a new boys’ school.

Mark Hoban will open Wykeham House Boys’ School in High Street.

The school moved there at the beginning of this school year.

In September, Year 7 boys started at the school, and the number of pupils will grow year on year.

Headteacher Lynn Clarke said: ‘We are delighted that the boys have settled so well into their new premises.

‘The school was introduced due to demand from parents seeking a similar learning experience for their sons, sharing the same ethos and values as the highly successful girls’ school.

‘The teachers at the school know the children well and the small class size enables us to achieve excellent academic standards while offering a wide range of extra curricular activities and educational trips.

‘This includes sailing, visits to an indoor climbing centre and visits to the local gym.’

The official opening will take place at midday on Friday.
