AN ONLINE petition has been set up to try and disband a school’s governing body.

Parents of children at Stamshaw Junior School are unhappy about the way the Interim Executive Board (IEB) has consulted them over plans to convert to an academy with Portswood Primary Academy in Southampton as its sponsor.

A protest is being held outside the school gates at 2.45pm today.

The consultation period finishes tomorrow and if the school does convert, it will become an academy on April 1.
