PE TEACHER Ryan Walsh is counting down the days to April 17 when he will be running in the Virgin London Marathon in aid of a children’s charity.

Mr Walsh, of Dunhurst Juniors, in Steep, near Petersfield, has been training for the marathon in between lessons and coaching sessions.

He wants to raise at least £1,500 for CCHF All About Kids and says he is encouraged by the support he has received from friends, colleagues and pupils.

He said: ‘Although I know it will be hard, the experience will be exhilarating. To cross the finish line having helped a charity as important as CCHF is my aim and I am really looking forward to the race.

‘CCHF is a lifeline for kids who often live in areas that are rife with drugs, gang culture, violence and crime.

‘The charity doesn’t receive any statutory funding and relies totally on the generosity of donors and supporters, so I am really pleased to be able to help them.’
