AN MP has paid a visit to a school which she helped win funding for a sports hall.

Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage went to Bay House School, in Gomer Lane, Alverstoke, Gosport, after it was awarded £2.5m for a new sports hall.

Ms Dinenage and a parent-led campaign saw the Education Funding Agency’s reverse its initial grant refusal.

As reported, the high-achieving girls’ basketball team had been left without a place to train. Ms Dinenage said: ‘I was more than happy to help Bay House School get a resolution to the problem it faced in getting funding.’
