A school has defended its policy over haircuts after excluding 15-year-old Aaron Prior from classes, saying his short-sides broke the rules.

But do you think the school were right to take action?

Aaron’s mother Sam criticised the ruling and said she did not believe Aaron deserved punishment - and our readers have been having their say on Facebook.

Sam said: ‘I was extremely angry. I believe this haircut looks perfectly acceptable.’

But Portchester Community School’s headteacher Richard Carlyle said: ‘Our policies clearly specify hair colours and styles which are acceptable.’
