SECONDARY schools across the city are being encouraged to enter the second annual Glee competition and show off their singing skills.
Following the success of last year’s launch, show producer Nick Coles has announced the choir contest is ‘back, bigger, louder and better’.
The competition, which attracted nine schools last year, is free to enter and will be staged at the Portsmouth Guildall on October 22.
It is open to groups of 10 to 80 singers and will give youngsters an unique opportunity to peform live at the premier music venue.
Mr Coles said: ‘We are encouraging choirs to demonstrate their versatility in a variety of styles and by performing material which is outside their usual range and repertoire.
‘Last year was a tremendous success and this year’s promises to be even bigger and better. It would be great to see lots of schools signing up – it’s free.’ The closing date for entries is July 8. If you would like to apply or to help sponsor the event contact Mr Coles by email on email@example.com.
