STUDENTS at the City of Portsmouth Girls school had an insight into their future at the annual careers fair.

There were representatives from local colleges, apprenticeship providers and a variety of business and public sector organisations.

More than 20 organisations showed pupils at the school what further study, training and careers were available after they finished their GCSEs.

Chris Notman, work related learning Co-ordinator at the school, said: ‘Our pupils are having to make choices earlier and earlier, so this year, for the first time, we opened up the fair to Years 7 and 8.

‘Events like these are so important to give insight into the world of work, show the girls what they can achieve in the future and help raise their aspirations.’
