WHILE most college students enjoyed a relaxing two-week Easter holiday, 900 young men and women at Portsmouth College forfeited a whole week to study for their exams.

The sacrifice was in return for an extra week off in the summer holidays and the gift of a thank-you Easter egg to each from the college principal, Steve Frampton.

He said: ‘We were the only educational institution in the area that was working at the start of the Easter break, but it was worth it as everyone had an productive time. Students and staff have been supportive and I’m proud of everyone.’
