UNIVERSITY students are planning a campus walkout tomorrow afternoon to protest over government reforms to higher education.

Dozens of young men and women are expected to join tens of thousands across the country in a mass boycott of seminars and lectures to rail against hidden course fees – where students have to pay extra for equipment and trips despite fees rising to as much as £9,000.

Sam Bogg, 21, a journalism and international relations undergraduate, plans to go on the march from the student union in Cambridge Road to Guildhall Square.

He said: ‘Fees are increasing dramatically but we’re not getting anything more for that – in fact, we’re getting a lot less.

‘We’re hoping lots of students will join us and send out a strong message.’
