MORE than 70 charities and voluntary groups have signed up to a community fair in Portsmouth.

The event will take place in the grounds of Admiral Lord Nelson School, in Dundas Lane, on Saturday, June 30.

The initial target was 100 free pitches and organisers say they still welcome approaches from community groups.

Organisers are also offering exhibitor pitches to individuals and businesses at a charge of £7.50. However, they cannot take bookings from food and drink businesses.

To entertain the crowds, they are keen to hear from local performance groups to perform for about 20 minutes at a time.

In June, any pitches left over will be offered to car booters.
