PROFESSOR Heinz Wolff will be the guest speaker at this year’s Age UK Portsmouth open day on Wednesday.

Professor Wolff, 84, is the Emeritus Professor of Bioengineering at Brunel University and former presenter of BBC’s The Great Egg Race for seven years from 1979.

His career has taken him from television to space research.

He will be speaking about his latest creation Care4Care, a potential social breakthrough which links Age UK Portsmouth and other charitable organisations.

He hopes to organise a national system where people care for someone older to earn ‘points’ so they can get a carer in later life.

People can drop in to the Age UK Portsmouth’s Bradbury Centre for a hot drink from 11am with presentations, presided over by the charity’s honourary president Lord Mayor of Portsmouth Cllr Frank Jonas, starting at 2pm.

To attend the presentations, contact Age UK Portsmouth at or telephone (023) 9286 2121.
