STUDENTS are making preparations for a trip to carry out charity work in Africa.

Elle Brown, 15, Charlotte Saunders, 14, and Maddie Stoneman, 14, who go to Springfield School in Drayton, are among a group of around 50 youngsters going to Kenya for 10 days.

The excursion is run by African Adventures, a charity organisation which arranges for groups to go to Kenya and Ghana every year.

Each student is required to raise money for the trip to cover the cost of various expenses – including visas and vaccinations.

Pupils will be holding a fundraising quiz evening at the school in April.
