STUDENTS let their creative juices flow as they composed a song for a new musical.
Experienced local musician John Gleadall visited Cowplain Community School to work with students who are entering a song competition.
The final song could potentially be included in Fidel, a musical about Fidel Castro and the Cuban revolution.
John said: ‘Students have been immersing themselves in Cuban music in order to compose appropriate songs for a new musical.
‘I have been very impressed with their levels of application, concentration, perseverance and resilience, and with the musical skills the students brought to the task.’
Sue Dobbyn, head of music at Cowplain, said: ‘This has been a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their composing skills and work to a tight deadline.’
