TEENAGERS will be able to learn about the skills needed to compete in the America’s Cup.

The 1851 Trust has launched a module for teachers for National Careers Week.

In addition to running educational visits to the tech deck at Land Rover BAR in Old Portsmouth, and organising on the water sailing projects, the trust has developed a digital learning platform called
BT STEM Crew in partnership with Land Rover BAR and BT.

BT STEM Crew is designed for teachers of STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths) to use in classrooms for 11-16 year olds to give lessons in an exciting way, using examples from the America’s Cup race boat and Land Rover BAR team to inspire students.

Jo Stocks, CEO of The 1851 Trust said: ‘The trust aims to use the excitement surrounding Land Rover BAR and the British campaign for the America’s Cup as a way of inspiring future generations to follow STEM subjects.’
