ENGLISH literature students will be taught by a lecturer long-listed for one of the world’s most prestigious literary prizes.

Alison MacLeod’s novel Unexploded is among the 13 works going forward for short-listing for the Man Booker Prize.

She is Professor of contemporary fiction at the University of Chichester and teaches the undergraduate and postgraduate creative writing courses.

Professor MacLeod describes being long-listed for one of the most prestigious literary awards as ‘like winning’, an experience that she will share with her students.

The English courses at Chichester are among the most established in the UK and many students become published authors.
