YOUNGSTERS have set expectations high as they shone at the first night of the Portsmouth Schools Music Festival.
The four-day event gives youngsters from schools across the city the opportunity to perform in front of an audience at Portsmouth Guildhall.
Sarah Lewis, who is on the festival committee and is also a conductor, said: ‘It was fantastic.
‘They set a high standard for the rest of the week. They came off stage buzzing.’
The first night included performances by students from Portsmouth Grammar School, Portsmouth College, Bosmere Juniors and St Mary’s RC Primary as well as a group of secondary schools who sang in a choir together.
