A CHARITY book sale is taking place in Portsmouth.

Being held at Portsmouth City Council’s resident participation offices, it will raise money for Naomi House children’s hospice.

It has been organised by resident Maria Cole.

She said: ‘We’ve chosen Naomi House this year and hope to raise lots of money for this very worthwhile cause.

‘The sale will be held between 11am and 2pm so anyone can drop in during their lunchtime and grab some bargain books from as little as 50p.

‘We’ve been asking people to donate their good quality books over the past few months so we have hundreds of titles to choose from - from Stephen Fry to Tom Clancy - great for holiday reading.

‘There will also be some reasonably-priced tasty cakes and refreshments, plus a raffle with some fabulous prizes.’

The sale will take place on Friday between 11am and 2pm at 20-28 Isambard Brunel Road.
