A NURSERY in Southbourne near Emsworth has been refurbished and will reopen at the end of August.

The nursery, formerly known as Poppins Early Learning Centre, was closed by Ofsted earlier this year, leaving many parents suddenly with no place for their children.

Gemma Lawson is the new owner of the nursery, now called Green Roots Nursery & Pre-school.

She said: ‘We had been searching for a suitable site for a long time, with great facilities and plenty of outdoor areas for exploration, hands-on play, fun and adventure.

‘While we knew the site’s history, we also knew it would perfectly fit the plans we have been working on for over three years. It’s been exciting to see Green Roots and the building becoming something totally new.’

Open days will be held between 2pm and 6pm on Saturday, August 17, Saturday, August 24, and Saturday, August 3. Evening previews will take place from Monday, August 26 until Friday, August 30 from 5pm until 7pm.
