A TEENAGER has been recognised for her role in helping someone suffering a severe asthma attack.

Rachael Ralph, 15, of Gosport, met HRH The Princess Royal at the St John Ambulance annual Young Achiever’s reception.

As reported, the school pupil at Wykeham House School, in Fareham, was invited to Buckingham Palace after she used her training.

She said: ‘Being recognised as a Young Achiever is an overwhelming feeling. Knowing that someone values and recognises your achievements within the charity is incredible. I wouldn’t have been able to reach this stage without the help and support of others and I hope I make them proud.’

Rachael was on holiday two years ago with her mum when she saw a woman having an asthma attack at the hotel she was staying in.

She found the woman’s inhaler before putting her in the recovery position.
