FORMERS teachers and staff are being invited to a party to celebrate a school’s 25th anniversary.

Park Community School, in Middle Park Way, Leigh Par, will be marking a quarter of a century since it changed its name from Broomfield School in the late 1980s.

Since then the school has experienced a brief period in special measures, a major refurbishment in the 1990s, specialist school status in performing arts, maths and science, the loss of much-admired headteacher Sean Dickinson and a dramatic improvement in exam results.

Christopher Anders, headteacher, said: ‘We know that every person who has worked at Park or supported the school in some way over the years will have had a part of play in our fantastic journey.

‘In September we want to take a brief pause, reflect and celebrate all that is great about Park Community School, before looking forward to an even greater future for the school.’

Invitations for the celebration have already been issued, but the school is keen to hear from other members of staff over the 25 years who may have moved address. Call Jane Alder on (023) 9248 9801.
