YOUNGSTERS took to the stage to show off their talents at the first night of the Rock Challenge finals.

Wicor Primary School in Portchester finished in second while Solent Junior School in Farlington came third at the event held at Portsmouth Guildhall.

St John’s Primary School in Gosport won an award for their soundtrack.

Organiser Stuart McGregor said: ‘We have been absolutely blown away by the quality of the performances and the support that all of the schools and performers have shown.’
