The team of three students will now head to Hotelympia in London on March 7 for a live final cook-off against other colleges from across the UK.

The team of college students – Jamie Hillyer, Kevin Fell and Sydney Knight – will be tasked with cooking a three-course meal in 90 minutes.

The competition, now in its 24th year, will see each winner receive a set of knives, a trip to the Universal Cookery and Food Festival and dinner at Michelin-star restaurant Simpsons.

Competition organiser Emma Holden said: ‘The standard in the semi-final heats has been incredible with some unbelievable technique, team work and dishes on display.

‘A huge congratulations has to go to all the teams who made the final as they each produced three amazing dishes.

‘We look forward to seeing the teams again in March at Hotelympia where the pressure is definitely cranked up a notch.’
