BEAUTY students from across the south visited Highbury College to compete in events ranging from media make-up to beauty therapy.

Over two days, students from Cornwall to Brighton travelled to Highbury to compete in the Beauty WorldSkills Regional Finals.

WorldSkills competitions are an opportunity for students to put the skills they learn at college to the test with students from other colleges.

Highbury’s facilities, which include a commercial salon and a beauty therapy suite, were used to stage competitions in nail enhancements, nail art, reflexology and aromatherapy.

Students with the highest scores from around the country will go forward to compete in the UK Skills Show, at the Birmingham NEC in November.

The UK’s largest skills and careers event aims to inspire young people with opportunities in further education, skills and apprenticeships.
