A GROUP of teachers who trained in Portsmouth are set to meet up again as part of a reunion.

The 50th anniversary reunion of ex-students of The City of Portsmouth College of Education will meet on Thursday at The Best Western Royal Beach Hotel in Southsea.

The group will enjoy a buffet at the hotel before moving on to Furze Lane student halls of residence in Milton, where the training took place.

The group of roughly 70 people will then be given a guided tour of the building.

Ex-student Julian Milton said: ‘Furze Lane will be truly memory lane and provide food for reminiscences long into the evening in Portsmouth which also brings back so many cheerful memories.’

The college was subsumed into the university and the buildings demolished, but the Furze Lane halls of residence remain.
