STAFF from a college in China have come to Portsmouth to spend three days learning at Highbury College.

The team, from Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technical College, spent time with their counterparts at the Cosham college to see how they approach learning, employer engagement and competition entries.

Yang Lili, deputy director of the Chinese college’s Core Capabilities Building Centre, said: ‘We are very happy to be in the beautiful seaside city of Portsmouth and we hope to learn a lot from our visit. Highbury is clearly a modern college that’s full of energy and we have been inspired by the way they focus on the students’ success.’

During their visit the Chinese delegation will take part in a series of meetings, seminars and master classes. Lecturers from the Chinese college’s automotive department also attended the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
