YOUNG people are being invited to take part in a free four-week theatre course run by the New Theatre Royal.

People aged between 16 and 18 who are not employed or in full-time learning are being encouraged to sign up to Making Theatre: Gaining Skills.

It will allow young people to work on a real theatre production, learning technical and production skills such as construction, lighting, graphic design and event management.

It has been designed for young people with moderate learning difficulties and runs from January 7 to February 1.

Those who complete the course will get a Bronze Arts Award and a BTEC Level 1 Award in supporting employability and personal effectiveness.
