MUCH-LOVED children’s author Jacqueline Wilson is visiting Portsmouth to talk about her books.

The Tracy Beaker author will discuss her new novel, Diamonds, at Portsmouth Grammar School, as part of Portsmouth BookFest.

Tickets are on sale now for the event, on October 19, and are expected to sell out fast.

Marie Telford from Hayling Island Bookshop, which is organising the book festival with Portsmouth City Council library service, said: ‘Dame Jacqueline is a strong and consistent supporter of both independent bookshops and library services so we are delighted that she has agreed to support us with this event.

‘Every new book by Jacqueline is eagerly awaited by her many fans. We already have people travelling from France just to hear her and meet her for the book signing afterwards.’

Jacqueline, left, will be signing copies and meeting fans after her talk.

This year, BookFest will feature 40 authors in 27 events at 15 different locations across the city. Call (023) 9268 8037 for tickets.
