Uni applications on rise

THE University of Portsmouth has seen a rise in applications for this year.

It received 31,000 applications by the UCAS deadline on January 15, thousands more than last year, which was also a record year.

Nationally, applications are up by four per cent.

Popular subjects are maths, engineering, sports science, computer science and law.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Graham Galbraith, said: ‘We have an excellent environment with exceptional resources, and the city itself wins the hearts of many people who visit on our open days.’
