A TEAM from the University of Portsmouth has been awarded £160,000 as part of a research project.

Professor Aldert Vrij and his team are working for the High-Value Detainee Interrogation Group, a US intelligence group set up by Barack Obama to question major crime suspects.

Professor Vrij and colleagues are exploring the effect of the presence of an interpreter in interviews on eliciting information, and detecting deception.
